Samsung launched one of its latest Galaxy A series smartphones, the Galaxy A37, in March. Typically, the brand provides mid-range phones, such as this one, with one security update every month for quite some time after launch before moving them to a quarterly update schedule. Unfortunately, that isn't the case with the Galaxy A37.
Just four months after its launch, the South Koran tech giant has already shifted the Galaxy A37 to a quarterly security update schedule (via Tarun Vats). This means the phone will now receive a security update once every three months instead of every month, which is disappointing news for the phone’s owners.
It's also worth noting that Samsung hasn't yet released the July 2026 security update for the Galaxy A37, even though the month is about to end. That's particularly surprising, as the company has already rolled out the update to older devices in the lineup, including the Galaxy A33.
Samsung launched the Galaxy A37 with One UI 8.5 (Android 16 QPR2), and promised to offer it six major upgrades along with six years of security updates for the device. That means it is eligible to get the company’s next Android skin, One UI 9.0, which is based on Android 17.
